We recognize how important staying connected to loved ones is during a hospital stay, and how difficult our current no visitor policy can be for patients and families during these challenging times. We’ve introduced a number of initiatives so patients can stay in touch while at our hospital.

  • Family and loved ones of patients at the Markham site can send an email to messageoflove@msh.on.ca with the patient's name, room number and a personal message or photo. This email is monitored by the Patient Experience department and messages will be printed and delivered to patients to keep in their room.
  • While in-person visiting is restricted, we encourage staying in touch with loved ones through video calling. Patients can use their own devices for these ‘virtual visits’, and hospital iPads are also available to those who need them.
  • Telephone and TV service is free of charge.
  • Free wifi is always available.
