Patient experience - family presence

We know how important it is for our patients to have their family members and partners in care involved in their care and care planning.

Our family presence policy enables 24/7 access for partners in care, allowing them to spend more time with their loved ones. The unrestricted visiting hour policy focuses on working with patients and their partners-in-care in care, care planning and decision making. The patient decides who they want involved during their admission at the hospital.

Research has shown that family presence not only enhances the patient and family experience it has been proven to enhance continuity of care, improve the management of chronic and acute illnesses and prevent hospital re-admissions.

General visiting hours will remain between MSH are 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. During this time visitors of the patient or family members may come and provide well wishes to the patient. Between the hours of 10 p.m. – 6 a.m., daily, MSH will observe quiet time to help patients get the rest they need.
