Preregistering with the hospital is a great way to make your admission process during labour simple and smooth. If you preregister with us during your pregnancy, you can provide us with information such as your room preference and insurance coverage so we’ll be all set up for you when you arrive in labour. We encourage you to preregister with us once you are 20 to 26 weeks pregnant.
Preregistering is especially important if you are planning a home birth with a midwife, just in case you have medical issues during labour or childbirth.
When you come for preregistration, please make sure you have the following:

  • Health card (Ontario Health Insurance Plan: OHIP card)
  • Completed admitting preadmission questionnaire package from your physician or midwife
  • Supplementary insurance information. Please make sure you are aware of your insurance coverage. If you have supplementary insurance, we will bill them on your behalf, with the understanding that the responsibility for full payment remains with you.

Childbirth services orientation, classes and support

After preregistering, please visit the central booking office to schedule your Childbirth services orientation session. Also check out our other classes and support.
