Having a procedure?
You will be greeted in the day surgery admission area and assisted to change into a hospital gown. One of our expert registered nurses will review your medical history, your paperwork, and review information with you while providing you the opportunity to ask any questions. You will have an intravenous (IV) started and then will proceed to the endoscopy procedure room where you will be assisted onto a stretcher and provided with a warm blanket for your comfort. Monitoring such as a blood pressure cuff will be used throughout your procedure. Your physician and the nursing team will provide you with sedation to keep you comfortable during your procedure. Procedures can take anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the type of procedure you are having. You will return to the day surgery area to recover from the sedation before being discharged home.
Important: You are required to have made arrangements for a ride home from the hospital as you are not allowed to drive after receiving sedation.
