Since its opening in 1959, the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital (UCH) has been a source of pride for the community, and not a few rumours.
Rumours of the hospital’s demise have run rampant for years, with residents fearing that the hospital would be defunded, closed down or moved to a larger centre. But an announcement on Sept. 19 quelled those fears as the provincial government awarded $500,000 in capital planning funding for the redevelopment of the facility.
