“I love coming to work. I love the people I work with. They make me smile. The patients make me smile. What I do makes a difference and that makes me happy.”
Angela King has been with Markham Stouffville Hospital for 15 years. She is a registered nurse in the obstetrical clinic and helps mothers and babies post birth.
In this role, she will often see the same patient multiple times and develops relationships with them.
“I see patients for different reasons – maybe they’ve had a miscarriage and I’ve helped them through that and then a year later they’re back having a baby. It’s great to develop those relationships.”
Angela also gives back to the hospital with her time as a volunteer at events like the Preemie Picnic.
“I’d like to do as much as I can to promote what we offer. It’s important for the community to know about all of our services.”
Her passion outside of work is summed up in two words, “my kids.”
