1000th baby born at Markham Stouffville Hospital's first of its kind midwife unit

C-section rate has been cut in half at new midwife unit

When Whitby residents Brad and Nazrina DeZilva were deciding where to have their baby during the COVID-19 pandemic, they wanted to do it with midwives at Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH). Little did they know that their baby Zephaniya would be the 1000th baby at the only standalone midwife unit at a hospital in Canada.
