Code of behaviour

Code of behaviour

To help provide you with the best possible patient experience, our Markham and Uxbridge sites have a Code of Behaviour that includes five core values (RTCCC): Respect, Trust, Commitment, Compassion and Courage.

  • Respect: I embrace diversity and inclusion and treat everyone with dignity.
  • Trust: I am reliable and show integrity in everything I do.
  • Commitment: I take accountability to follow through.
  • Compassion: I approach all relationships with empathy, sensitivity and understanding.
  • Courage: I take ownership of my actions and responsibility for solving problems.

To develop our Code of Behaviour, we reflected on our hospital’s practices, and reviewed suggestions and feedback from our many stakeholders. We also researched what other leading organizations were doing. The Code of Behaviour supports our strategic plan, vision and mission.

We encourage all people in the hospital (whether they are a staff member, physician, volunteer, patient or visitor) to live these values, through our everyday interactions and work.
