Xerxes Cooper, General Manager, Global Technology Services, IBM Canada Ltd., leads the country’s largest enterprise technology provider to design, build and run the foundational systems and services that Canadian organizations rely upon.
Xerxes partners with clients to achieve their strategic objectives by leveraging resilient public, private and hybrid cloud implementations that are underpinned by managed security services across networking, systems and mobility offerings. His organization’s industry-driven view enables clients to harness the value of cognitive computing and emerging technologies while addressing their individual market needs.
Over the course of his IBM career, Xerxes has held a number of financial leadership and executive roles in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Most recently, as Chief Financial Officer, IBM Canada, Xerxes oversaw all aspects of the company’s financial planning and analysis, performance management, tax, pensions, and operations, providing financial and strategic business counsel to IBM Canada’s president.
Focused upon giving back to the community, Xerxes serves as Chairman of IBM's Employee Charitable Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities across Canada, and the advancement of young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). In addition, Xerxes is a member of the Board of Directors for Markham Stouffville Hospital, where he is also a member of the Finance and Audit Committee.
A registered CMA/CPA and member of the Financial Executives Institute of Canada, Xerxes holds an honours BBA specializing in Finance and Accounting from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
Xerxes has a passion for soccer and basketball, is an avid history buff, and delights in experiencing new cultures and cuisines. He lives in Markham Canada with his wife and two young children.
