Biography

Most recently, Mike served as Chief Operating Officer of the Renewable Generation Group of Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp. During his time there he was responsible for strategy, business development, operations, asset management, human resources and evaluating and reporting on growth and operational activities. He had the unique opportunity to successfully lead the group’s growth from $750M in generating assets to over $3B in 7 years from 2011 to 2018. 

Mr. Snow sits on two boards in the electricity sector - the Board of the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) based in Calgary, AB and Envest Corp, an independent power producer delivering private utility energy to the mid-market infrastructure sector in North America. He is on the Development and Planning Committee of  the Markham Stouffville Hospital Board. 

In prior roles, he led both industrial and consumer organizations, focusing on growth and international operations in Mexico, South America, and Asia while driving culture change and building strong leadership teams. 

Mr. Snow holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics) from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Mechanical) from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University. He received his Chartered Director designation from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University in 2015.
