Chris Madsen is an Associate Partner with Ernst & Young LLP (EY), Chartered Professional Accountants where he leads their Financial Accounting Advisory Services Innovation Centre of Excellence for Canada. Chris has 20 years of professional experience specializing in advising finance and accounting leaders on Finance 4.0 strategies aimed at modernizing the finance function by redefining operating models, automating routine functions and leveraging data to create valuable insights in support of strategic decision making. He is frequently a guest speaker on innovation in Finance, including topics covering Analytics & Automation, Blockchain, Finance 4.0, and Public Financial Management.
Chris currently serves on the Board at Markham Stouffville Hospital as a community member and member of the Development and Planning committee. Throughout his career, Chris has been actively involved in initiatives outside of his day job, from involvement with fund raising initiatives for the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation, as a volunteer martial arts coach, and as a former trustee on his local condo board. He is a long standing citizen of the Markham community where he currently lives with his wife and 3 children.
Chris holds an Honours Bachelor of Administration (HBA) degree from the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant under CPA Ontario.
