Barb Steed is the Executive Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Practice Officer at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
Barb began her career as an Emergency Department nurse. Since then, she has held a number of progressive leadership roles within the healthcare system at Royal Victoria Hospital, Baycrest Health Sciences, Trillium Health Partners and Southlake Regional Health Centre. Her roles have covered a diverse range of clinical services including medicine, surgery, complex continuing care, brain health, intensive care, and childbirth and children’s health. Her experience also includes quality, risk, patient safety, medical administration, laboratory services and diagnostic imaging.
Barb is a registered nurse who holds a Master of Health Studies from Athabasca University and is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders. She has completed the Advanced Healthcare Leadership Program at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto.
