Our Inpatient Rehab services are for adults who require surgical and non-surgical orthopaedic, neurological or medical rehabilitation for diagnoses such as total hip or knee arthroplasty (THA/TKA) and cerebral vascular accident (CVA). These patients are medically stable and able to participate in daily interdisciplinary sessions. As individuals make the transition from inpatient to community living, we may refer them to Outpatient Rehab or to a community partner.

At Markham Stouffville Hospital, we admit a high proportion of stroke patients, as well as total joint patients to our Inpatient Rehab unit, so we focus on integrating best practices in alignment with both the Ontario Stroke Strategy and the Total Joint Network and MyJointReplacement.ca
