Breast Health Centre

The Breast Health Centre at Markham Stouffville Hospital is a model of patient-centered care, meaning the health system revolves around the patient. Our goal is to improve and accelerate every step patients have with the health system from initial referral, to assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Patient care at the centre is supported by the most advanced screening tools and an expert interdisciplinary team of health specialists.

The Breast Health Centre was developed in response to the needs of our community and delivers “one-stop” coordinated care in a setting built for patient comfort and privacy. Once referred to the centre, patients will have access to the latest in diagnostic, assessment and treatment services focused precisely on their needs.

Our approach calls for family physicians to directly refer patients with a high suspicion of breast cancer to the centre, eliminating any possible delays in patient care.
