We Are Moving Forward!

The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation has exciting news: our Hospital received the green light to proceed with plans to expand!  Construction is slated to begin in 2010.

In support of this planned expansion, the Foundation is preparing for the largest campaign in our Hospital's history, and one of the largest fundraising campaigns in York Region. 

We look forward to sharing details about how our Hospital will change to provide the best in progressive community care to your families, friends and neighbours.

As you may know, the government funds a portion of the many costs associated with a project of this magnitude. The Foundation is responsible for raising significant funds from our community. 

Our community's pride in its Hospital has been evident since March of 1990, when we opened our doors after raising $5 million in only 18 months, making ours one of the most effective fundraising campaigns in Ontario at the time! 

Times have changed and so too has health care.  The costs to provide the most current and state-of-the-art care have increased dramatically.  Together, we must raise $50 million to ensure every resident in our community receives the services and programs they need, close to home.

We look forward to embarking on this exciting Campaign with you - our dedicated community members, patients and partners in the delivery of health care.  Markham Stouffville Hospital is the cornerstone of a healthy community, and we want to ensure better health today for a stronger community tomorrow.
