The community served by Markham Stouffville Hospital is growing and changing — an exciting place to work and a great place to live. In the last decade, not only has the face of the community changed, the needs of the community have too. Those needs include increased access to emergency and ambulatory health care, oncology and surgical services.
Markham Stouffville Hospital recognized these needs and advocated for the expansion on behalf of the community. The hospital broke ground on the project in December 2010 and from that time until August 2014, we were busy doubling the size of the facility, tripling the size of the emergency department and increasing access to surgical services, maternal health services and oncology services, among others.
The project is now complete and the new Markham Stouffville Hospital is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is ready to move into the future and continue to provide high-quality care to our patients.
