Asthma Education Centre

Asthma is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in Canada affecting approximately three million Canadians. Over 50% of asthma sufferers, however, do not have their disease well controlled.

The focus of Markham Stouffville Hospital’s Asthma Education Centre is on educational programs to recognize, control, manage and treat the growing problem of asthma in York Region.

You will learn:

• How to recognize and understand your body’s warning signs
• What triggers your asthma and how to avoid it
• How to take inhaled medications effectively and minimize side-effects
